Women Empowerment implies giving them independence, and choice in how they want to lead their lives. Freedom to choose to pursue education, whom they want to marry, career, bringing up children and more. When a woman is empowered, she can identify her skills, knowledge & abilities to make her own decisions. Empowerment is an evolving growth process for her, which gives her self-esteem, confidence to face society, and participate in community development.
Women face discrimination across the world. This had led to great disparity in education, income, wealth and health. Women account for just 10% of the world’s income and own less than 1% of the world’s property. In India, the rate of literacy for men is 80.9 per cent as compared to 64.6% for women, and their participation in labor force is only 29%.
We strongly believe that women should have equal socio-economic, cultural and political opportunities as men. With this ideology in mind ,a successful attempt was made to empower women of the slum area, we provided them with vocational training of sewing which is relevant to their needs and provides them value added skills to help them earn additional income for their families are proud to say that their lives.

Economically disadvantaged women in villages and urban slums lack education and employable skills; they migrate to cities in search of low-skill jobs or work as domestic help, agricultural laborers, and as maids in schools, hospitals, shops and establishments. Ayaansh Welfare Trust has conducted baseline survey to identify skills needed in the job-market and has developed training programs for women to help them become micro entrepreneurs or get better paying jobs.
By helping women acquire non-traditional livelihoods with dignity, we are ultimately developing a cadre of empowered women who become agents of change. These women carry values of inclusion, mutual respect and equality, and democratise the spaces in which they live, whether it’s their family or community.
To create a supportive environment for women to take on non-traditional livelihoods and live with dignity, we also engage with men and women in their communities through a range of community programmes. Through our work we contribute to achieving the goal of economic and social equality for women in India.
Women’s empowerment is to educate and train women with the skills and confidence necessary to earn a livelihood and lead a healthy and dignified life. Improving education for women helps raise their levels of health and nutrition and also reduces fertility rates. Education increases their self-confidence and enables them to find livelihood, and become a voice in the local policies that effect their lives. Education also empowers women to make life choices to improve not only their welfare and health, but also that of their family. When women have the authority to make their own decisions regarding the use of their resources, it is usually seen that, their families and communities also prosper. By supporting a wide range of women-focused programs through NGO-partners, Ayaansh Welfare Trust is empowering a new generation of women who are able to support themselves financially, participate in local governance, provide healthcare for their families and themselves, and, stand up for equality at home and in their communities.
